New team, new shooting stroke as Matt Ganuelas-Rosser aims to make mark at SMB

San Miguel recruit Matt Ganuelas Rosser has been working on improving his shooting with help from his teammates.
IT wasn't only Matt Ganuelas-Rosser's jersey that was different when he played in the PBA for the first time since being traded last April.

There was also a noticeable change in the former TnT KaTropa cager's shooting form as well in his San Miguel debut in a 118-93 win over Blackwater in the PBA Governors' Cup last Saturday.

Asked about it after the match at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, Ganuelas-Rosser said he is indeed working on his shooting form with help from the whole team.

"Yeah, I'm just trying to keep it more consistent. It feels good. I feel like I have something that works and that can be consistent," said the lanky  defensive specialist.

"It's actually been a collective effort. The biggest thing they told me is do what's comfortable for you. I got a fresh start, hopefully it will work. I feel like it will," he added.

It didn't translate into buckets right away, though.

Ganuelas-Rosser finished with only four points on 2-of-8 shooting from the field to go with two rebounds, three assists, and a block in almost 21 minutes on the court.

But Rosser is staying patient.

After all, it's one of the facets of his game he's trying to work on as he hopes to be an integral part in the Beermen’s bid for a grand slam.

The 6-foot-5 guard insisted he's not trying to be as sharp as Marcio Lassiter, but it will be big to add another weapon to his arsenal.

"I just gonna keep working at it. I'm not gonna be a Marcio but I'm gonna work hard everyday," he said. - SPIN Ph
