Sweet-shooting rookie Von Pessumal won’t mind losing ample playing minutes after being traded by GlobalPort to Grand Slam-seeking San Miguel Beer in exchange for seldom-used Arnold Van Opstal on Monday.
“I’m thankful for San Miguel ‘cause they had (showed) interest in me,” Pessumal said after attending Gilas’ practice on Monday. “I’m just excited to play for them, learn from the championship culture they have over there and see how we can help any way in practice and games, any way that they ask me, they want me to help out, I’ll help out in any way.”
The former Ateneo sharpshooter logged in an average of 15.2 minutes per game in his first two conferences with GlobalPort — an exposure he might not enjoy under head coach Leo Austria’s system.
“Whether I play one minute, I play two minutes, five minutes, ten, whatever. If I have to help out in practice and go hard in practice ok lang sa akin basta manalo kami. So good situation for me,” he stressed. – FOX Sports Asia
